HISTORY AND STRUCTURE
Protan AS is a multinational Company established in 1939. The Protan Group currently consists of more than 23 different companies, and has approx. 725 employees throughout Europe. The group's head office and main production plant are both situated in Drammen, Norway. Other factories are located in Nesbyen, Norway and Lesjöfors and Kungsäter, Sweden. In addition Protan has subsuppliers of manufacturing services in other countries. It has own subsidiary companies in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Poland and in the United Kingdom, and a sales office in Belgium. Protan has associates in more than 50 countries throughout the world. Protan has manufactured waterproofing materials for over 50 years and roofing membranes since 1972.
PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
The company is the largest producer of thermoplastic roofing membranes in the Nordic countries, and is at the forefront of membrane technology. Its products are exported widely in Europe. The company also specialises in the fabrication of a range of Protan synthetic canvases used for a variety of applications, including ducting, tented structures and containment vessels. These products are exported world-wide.
Protan’s products are accredited and tested by most building technology institutes in Europe.
LONG TERM OWNERSHIP AND STABILITY
Protan was founded in 1939 and is a Norwegian, family-owned company with long traditions. The next generation in the family is involved in the company’s Board of Directors, and the family has a long term perspective of their ownership of Protan AS.
