The Crni Vrh Tunnel is part of the Pan-European Corridor Vc motorway, a key transport route connecting Budapest in Hungary with Sarajevo and the Port of Ploče in Croatia. The tunnel is located on the Medakovo–Ozimice section of the motorway in Bosnia and Herzegovina and forms an important part of the north–south corridor running through the country.
With a length of approximately 2.2 kilometres, the tunnel is part of a larger infrastructure project that also includes bridges, viaducts, interchanges and underpasses. The overall motorway section has an estimated value of around €160 million and is developed for the Public Company Autoceste FBiH.
For the project, Protan supplied the InfraPlan P20 PVC waterproofing membrane system, including geotextile protection layers and accessories. Installed as part of the tunnel’s waterproofing solution, the membrane system protects the concrete lining from water ingress and contributes to the long-term durability and safety of the tunnel structure.
The Crni Vrh Tunnel is one of several structures required to complete Corridor Vc, a strategic European transport route financed largely through EU, EIB and EBRD funding. Once completed, the corridor will strengthen connectivity between central Bosnia, Croatia and the wider European transport network.
