The Golubinja Tunnel in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a landmark infrastructure project, marking a major step forward in the country’s transport network. Stretching 3.6 kilometers, it is the longest road tunnel in Bosnia and a key segment of the Pan-European Corridor Vc. Connecting Žepče and Zenica as part of the PoprikušeNemila motorway section, the tunnel promises to significantly cut travel times by bypassing the existing route through the Bosna Valley.

With a total budget of €251 million, the project is funded through loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and an EU grant of €41 million. The left tunnel was completed in July 2024, and the entire project is slated for completion by the end of 2026. The Golubinja Tunnel is set to enhance regional connectivity, support economic growth, and modernize Bosnia’s transport infrastructure.
