Litex®, part of Protan Group, has a new General Manager. Knut Grothaug took up the position on 1 September 2026 and aims to make the most of being part of a larger group.
Grothaug brings extensive experience in sales management and strategy. He spent most of his career at Würth Norway and the past seven years in the equipment rental industry, most recently as CBDO and member of the management team at Renta Norge, one of Norway’s largest rental companies for construction equipment. His first priority at Litex® is clear: sales.
Having worked in large organisations, Grothaug knows how easy it is to get lost in the landscape. He sees great value in Litex® being a smaller company within the group.
“We will make the most of every possible synergy from being part of something bigger. Because we are part of the group, yet small, we can act as a pilot when new things are being tested,” he says.
Litex® and Protan serve the same customers in the construction industry, and the sales teams are already co-located.
“I will certainly be cheering on collaboration between roofs and bathrooms,” says Grothaug.
Knut is passionate about bandy and spends his spare time refereeing matches in his local community.
Litex® is the original membrane board for wet rooms. Grothaug’s goal is for the entire industry to understand the difference between a membrane board and an ordinary wet-room board, and for Litex® to take its rightful place in Norwegian building projects. He also sees strong potential in the Swedish market.
“We save the construction industry time and money, and we make sure the end customer gets a safe bathroom. The dream is that nobody buys a home without Litex® in the bathroom,” he says.
