Karolinka Shopping Centre in Opole is one of the largest retail facilities in Poland, combining a modern shopping mall with an extensive retail park. With a total leasable area of approximately 70,000 m² and around 120 stores operated by both Polish and international brands, the centre serves as a major commercial destination in the Opole region.
The project includes large roof areas designed to support the long-term performance requirements of a high-traffic retail environment. Protan delivered an exposed roofing system using Protan SE 1.5 F91 membrane, providing reliable waterproofing, durability and efficient installation across the extensive roof surfaces.
Opened in stages between 2008 and 2009, Karolinka Shopping Centre also includes a large parking area with approximately 2,600 parking spaces, supporting daily visitors to the retail complex.
