Product Summary

  • The membrane can be laid on both insulated and uninsulated decks.

Protected System

The Protan G membrane is used as a membrane on ballasted roofs and terraces.

It is well suited as a covered membrane on large roof terraces that are to be used with heavy footfall.

A Protan-approved polyethylene vapour control layer is loose-laid over the structural roof deck, followed by Protan approved insulation and Protan G PVC single-ply membrane.

A polyester protection fleece layer is loose-laid over the Protan membrane, followed by a ballast. If the weight of the ballast is ≥ 80kg/m², then the insulation and Protan membrane can be loose-laid. Otherwise, the insulation and Protan membrane must be mechanically-fixed to the structural roof deck by fasteners and telescopic tube washers, the density of which is determined by a wind load calculation completed by Protan’s Technical Services Department.
